1. Cookie Usage Policy

This policy governs the use of cookies on the website https://www.driverphone.com, owned by DRIVERPHONE SRL with headquarters in Bucharest, Nucului Street, no. 6, Block V-101, Staircase 2, Floor 3, Apartment 41, Room 1, Sector 3, Romania, tax code 50079486, registered at the Trade Register under no. J40/9745/2024, EUID ROONRC.J40/9745/2024, hereinafter referred to as “Driverphone”, as Data Controller.
The Cookie Usage Policy is complemented by the Driverphone data protection policy, which we encourage you to read, as it includes additional useful information, including information about Driverphone's Data Protection Officer, all purposes of data processing by Driverphone, and your rights.

2. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file, consisting of letters and numbers, that will be stored on a user's computer, mobile terminal, or other equipment from which the internet is accessed. The cookie is installed through a request issued by the user's terminal to a Driverphone server or to a third-party server.

3. What is the lifespan of a cookie?

The lifespan of a cookie can vary significantly, depending on the purpose for which it is placed. Some cookies are intended for a single use (such as session cookies), thus not being maintained once the user leaves the site. Other cookies are maintained and reused every time the user returns to the site (persistent cookies). However, cookies can be deleted by the user at any time through browser settings.

4. What are third-party cookies?

Some content sections on certain sites may be provided through third-party cookies such as an advertisement. Such cookies may be placed on the site and are called third-party cookies as they are not placed by the site owner. Such third parties are also obliged to comply with the applicable legal regulations and the privacy policies of the respective site owner.

5. Why are cookies important for the internet?

Cookies and/or similar technologies are a central point of the efficient functioning of the Internet, helping to generate a friendly and tailored browsing experience according to each user's preferences and interests. Refusing or disabling cookies can make some sites or parts of sites impossible to use.

Disabling cookies does not mean that you will no longer receive, in compliance with the legislation, online advertising – only that this will no longer be able to consider your preferences and interests, as evidenced by your browsing behavior.

Examples of important uses of cookies (which do not require user authentication through an account):

  • Content and services tailored to user preferences – categories of products and services;
  • Offers tailored to user interests;
  • Remembering passwords;
  • Retaining child protection filters regarding Internet content (family mode options, safe search functions);
  • Limiting the frequency of ad delivery – limiting the number of times an ad is displayed to a particular user on a site;
  • Providing relevant advertising for the user;
  • Measuring, optimizing, and adapting analytics features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed, and how a user arrives on a website (e.g., through search engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). Websites conduct these analyses regarding their usage to improve their services for the benefit of users.
6. What types of cookies do we use?

We use two types of cookies: session and persistent. Session cookies are temporary files that remain on the user's terminal until the end of the session or closing the application. Persistent cookies remain on the user's terminal for a period defined by the cookie parameters or until manually deleted by the user.

7. Do cookies contain personal data?

Cookies themselves do not require personal information to be used and, in many cases, do not personally identify Internet users. However, there are situations where personal data can be collected through the use of cookies to facilitate certain functionalities for the user or to offer the user a more tailored experience according to their preferences. Such data is encrypted in a way that makes it impossible for unauthorized persons to access it.

8. Blocking cookies

If you wish to block cookies, some functionalities will be stopped, and this may generate certain dysfunctions or errors in using our sites. For example, blocking cookies may prevent you from:

  • Placing online orders;
  • Logging into your account.
